Today’s Washington Post with Newell Turner!

In the Home section of the Washington Post today, Newell Turner was recently interviewed…He’s the new House Beautiful Editor-in-Chief, and I’m fortunate enough to be able to say that he’s also a friend.

Please be sure to check it out!  The interview is excellent…I particularly like Newell’s response to his comment that “…interior designers are worth every penny.”  In the interview, he says:

“In the long run, they can save you lots of money by helping to prevent mistakes. Designers are masters at conceiving spaces and arranging furniture in rooms. It sounds like a simple thing to do, but it’s not. I’m obsessed with furniture placement. It’s extremely important, and I think that’s something that a lot of people don’t understand. All good design starts with a good floor plan. If you don’t start with a good floor plan, you’re constantly struggling with problems and trying to correct things that aren’t right.”

Congratulations, Newell…A wonderful interview and a gorgeous first HB issue for you…Off to a fantastic start and I’m sure there are many more to come from an editor as talented as you!
